You mean Ninja Theory was almost bankrupt??? I can't imagine why.
SephirothX21, what you are describing is the difference between genres, not a difference between the quality of games. Of course, Mass Effect is going to have more choices than Uncharted. ME is a role-playing game. Choice is what RPGs are about. Uncharted is a platforming game.
It sounds like you simply prefer RPG's to platformer. There is nothing wrong with that. Lots of people prefer RPG's to platformers. But you should compare each of them other games with...
@SilentNegotiator
The increasing the price is raise the bar of entry. They make the bar higher so that fewer people will be able to get over it.
I read the comments. I think they are pure garbage. If you make something that is designed to influence your first playthrough, then it is material to the understanding the game.
I beaten ME1 & 2 although I have spent about 20 hours on ME1. I played enough to know that being able to talk to an actual Prothean is a BIG EFFIN' DEAL. If you have followed the Mass Effect storyline, then you know it too.
I don't agree with J-blaze, but Larry L is wrong as well.
There is something wrong with on-disc DLC, ESPECIALLY if it is an incentive to get people to buy new. I pay for the disc and everything that's on it, PERIOD. If I want to sell it and buy another that's my business. Deliberately locking content on my disc may be legal, but is highly unethical, and only works because most games are bought by kids and young adults who can't take care of themselves. T...
Chad, that is the worst post I have read in a long time. Your whole premise is that we should not look out for ourselves and look out for the games companies instead. That's just wrong.
The game companies should look out for themselves, and the gamers should look out for themselves.
I am not lucky to be getting games. I am paying to get games. I simply want them to give me what I pay for. And if its on the disc then I've already paid for it. If they ...
Very few real-life actresses are hotter than the video game characters that they play. Very few real-life women can have a perfectly flat stomach while having a pair of all natural breasts, each of which is bigger than their head.
That is the good thing about video games, they lie to you.
I think a lot of people didn't read the article. There is only a two month timed-exclusive for people who buy Dragon's Dogma for 360. If you don't buy Dragon's Dogma then you get the demo at the same time on 360 and PS3.
Who the hell wants to buy Dragon's Dogma? I had never heard of it until I read this article, hence Capcom's "strategic business decision." Capcom needed a way to tie this game to Resident Evil in order to sell it.

DLC announced on the same day the game is released. Do you ever feel like you are being played?
Bethesda does have the right idea. Developers should release the game, let it gestate for at least 4 months, and then release DLC that actually adds to the game. It should be a new quest like the Knights of the Nine and/or Brotherhood of Steel, or a useful addition designed for high-level characters like the Wizard's Tower was.
Insomnium 2,
That rationale makes no sense.
Whether online passes are good for the consumers, or the publishers, or not is beside the point. The point is I HAVE A RIGHT TO SELL MY PROPERTY TO WHOMEVER I CHOSE.
When I buy a game its mine. I can do what I want with it. I can sell it, I can give it to you. I can break it, melt it, play frisbee with, or whatever else I can think of. When a publisher tells me that I can't sell my lic...
I've just got to jump in on this, even if I'm late.
How the hell can you be too dependent on your own stuff? The very question is absurd on its face.
I disagree with your framing.
The PS3 is better at media. You can put whatever you want on you hdd, and watch you blu-rays.
I disagree with the notion that the 360 is better at games, live, friends etc. It is better at some multi-plat games because some devs still have problems with the PS3.
However, variety in the library matters. The 360 only gets 1 or 2 AAA exclusives per year and the PS3 gets 7 or 8 every year. Lots of those exclu...
It's not really suprising. Final Fantasy XIII released on the same week as God of War released in the US. That had to cost it some sales. I know that it cost them my money.
FFXIII-2 doesn't have that competition.
What part of "I can't recall anything else like it" did you not understand?
So why don't you go play Heavy Rain, the "spiritual successor to Indigo Prophecy," on your Xbox 360. Oh, that's right, its not on the 360, it's exclusive.
I guess I'll go fire up a 128 vs. 128 multi-player on one of the multi-platform games. You mean that is only on MAG.
There are some very good multi-plat franchises, Assassin...
As someone pointed out, games are priced by region anyway. The explanation is pure BS.
The author is reaching. He is trying to make the point that gamers are missing out on PS3 exclusives by not having a PS3. He is flat out wrong, pure and simple.
His comparisons don't match up. Killzone/Resistance/Halo - all three are first-person shooters and that's where it stops. Halo has a 5 on 5 multiplayer. That's not even close the KZ and Resistance, which are closer to MW.
Halo/Forza - I will grant him this one.
Infamo...
So far I am not encouraged. I wanted more clarity brought to an already confusing story. It looks like they are adding more confusion to the story.
I think Versus XIII has enough hype on its own to meet its sales expectations without changing the name. Having said that...
The obvious answer is to change the battle engine to turn-based and name it Final Fantasy XV. I would definitely change the name to 15 whether I changed the battle system or not. The fact that the mythology is related wouldn't deter me at all. The norm in the video game world is for sequels to be related and set in the same universe.
What Heavenly Sword animated movie? I never heard of any such thing. You got a link?
